Samuel “Sammy” Ray Chapman
, age 71, of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee passed away on July 17, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Sammy was born on February 27, 1947 to the late James and Maggie Chapman in Mount Pleasant, TN. Sammy loved and worked hard for his family; he was especially fond of his granddaughter Jaylee. He was a member of Locust Street Church of Christ.
Sammy is survived by his wife, Katie Chapman; daughters, Tanya Woodham, of Summertown, TN and Denise (John) Lewis, of Nashville, TN; granddaughters, Jaylee Self, Lauren Lewis and Lillian Lewis; brothers, Tommy Keith Chapman and Terry Lee (Lillie) Chapman, both of Mount Pleasant, TN. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, James Lewis Chapman.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with Daniel King officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be presented by American Legion Herbert Griffin Post 19.
Pallbearers are Daniel Johnson, Ty Self, Wayne Chapman, Daniel Sexton, Terry Chapman and Larry Chapman.
