Samuel Frost, age 87, of Tuscumbia, died Thursday, July 27, 2017. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, July 30, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Travis Dalton, Larry Dowdy, and Gary Mathis will be officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Methodist Cemetery.
Mr. Frost was born in Lawrence County, Alabama, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was retired from TVA as a draftsman, and was a member of the Baptist church. Mr. Frost was preceded in death by his parents, Columbus Marion Frost and Lucille Woods Frost; first wife, Sarah June Frost; son, Dwight Frost; step-son, Hal Mathis; two sisters; and one brother.
He was survived by wife, Lurley Mathis Frost; children, Roderick Frost (Pam), Patricia Owen (Vaughn), and Eric Frost (Sandy); step-children, Gary Mathis and Steve Mathis (Karen); and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
