Samuel Drake Elder, 21, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016, as the result of an automobile accident . He was born October 21, 1994 to the late Lucky Delton Elder and Rita Umphers Elder in Tupelo. He was a member of South Side Baptist Church. He graduated from IAHS in 2013. Since that time he has been a devoted care giver to his great grandmother who suffers from Alzheimer’s. His hobbies included video gaming, building models, and collecting movie memorabilia. He was a great fan of all things Marvel. He loved to travel with his family and friends. Among some of his best times were spent seeing new places and going to Comic Cons. He had a huge, kind, loving, generous, heart, who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was his mom’s best friend.
Survivors include his mother, Rita Elder of Fulton, 2 half sisters, Erica Elder of AR, Skylar Elder of AR, grandparents, Neal (Lorene) Umphers of Fulton, great grandmother, Lucille Umphers, paternal grandfather, Lucky Elder, Sr., Uncles, Abear Elder, George Ralph, James Ralph, Aunts, Monica (Thomas) Holland, Emma Crocket, Lilly Henry, special friends, Latricia Parks, Angela Orrick, Logan Lefford, Roman Campbell, Zack King, Mark Stanford.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lucky Delton Elder, and paternal grandmother, Peggy.
Pallbearers will be Logan Lefford, Roman Campbell, Thomas Holland, Tristan Loague, and Darrell Gates.
