Sabrina Carol Simmons Gardner

Graveside services for Mrs. Sabrina Carol Simmons Gardner, age 67, will be held at 2PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12PM until service time in the Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home Chapel.
Carol was born in Humboldt, Tennessee to Carolyn (Blurton) and Russell Jerry Simmons October 20, 1958. She passed from this life on Friday, May 8, 2026 in the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She graduated Humboldt High School in 1977 and retired at age 52 after a 29 year career at the Milan Army Ammunition Plant, where she met her husband and best friend, Paul. While employed there, she also served as the financial secretary for the United Steel Workers Union.
Carol and Paul married in March of 1997 and enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains, boating, fishing and spending time with friends on the Tennessee River. She was an avid crafter and scrapbooker, and kept a booth at the McKenzie Antique Mall for many years. What she loved most was a mystery movie, good seafood at the beach, laughing with Paul, and being with her grandkids in the pool. Our Nana is so loved and will be sorely missed until we see her again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn Blurton Simmons Dollar and Russell Jerry Simmons, and grandparents Russell B. and Marie Simmons and Wendell and Lucille Blurton of Humboldt, Tn.
Carol is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Paul W. Gardner, Daughters, Dana Harrell (Michael) of Sparta, TN, Jodi Cahue (Victor) of Huntsville, AL, four grandchildren, Holly, Brant (Cassidy), Alex and Ava and six great grandchildren along with her siblings, Russell Jerry Simmons Jr., Cathy Willis, Christy Hays (Glen), four nephews, Jason, Jonathan, Christopher and Carter.
