Mrs. Simpson passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at her home in Alexander City. She was born in Pell City, Alabama and was a graduate of Pell City High School. In 1951, she married the Father of her four wonderful Children, E.L. Macon. Her family moved to Wedowee in 1959 briefly until settling in Clay County in 1965. She was a member of Lineville Baptist Church from 1965 until 2010 when she moved to Alexander City. As an active member of LBC, She enjoyed spending time with friends on Keenager bus trip adventures. She took her children to church and instilled in them a reverence for God and the Bible. Mrs. Simpson enjoyed being able to travel, which included walking on the beaches of Hawaii, to watching the sunset over the Colorado Rockies, and even to China and Germany to celebrate the arrival of her granddaughters. Her favorite spot most of wall was a modest cabin in the Mountains of Highlands, NC. Food was the way to her heart, and showed love through her cooking. She taught her children how to use a gravy boat, putting color on the plate, and which fork to pick up. Her blackberry cobbler was the best on the planet, and no one fried better squash or okra. She ate some of finest foods; Prime Rib, Sea Bass, Smoked Salmon, fancy French Croissants just to name a few. Mrs. Simpson loved pretty things. From pictures to pottery, candles to centerpieces and soo many dishes. She looked forward to family gatherings, whether it was a reunion that included all relatives, a special occasion with several, or even one on one visits, she treasured the time spent with her family.

Mrs. Simpson is survived by her four children: Donald Macon (Twila Voss), Danita Carroll (Phillip), Felicia Nettles (Jeff), and Tracie Thompson; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Her Grandsons and Great-Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Her visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland beginning at 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M.
