Nicholas McDaniel
FLORENCE-Florence Police have charged a Russellville man, Nicholas McDaniel, 42 with the charge of Sodomy and several other charges after they say a woman was assaulted at a New Year’s Eve party.
After responding to a call in the 300 block of Redfield Road on New year’s Eve police investigated a claim of sexual assault. During the investigation the victim stated she was not feeling well and she was resting in another room when she woke to find McDaniel sodomizing her.
When she could not get McDaniel to stop the assault the victim stated she screamed and another party guest came into the room and stopped McDaniel’s assault.
Later that evening McDaniel was found in his car passed out at a red-light. He was charged with a DUI at the time.
In addition to the DUI charge, McDaniel was charged with unlawful imprisonment 2nd degree, Sodomy 1st degree, and sexual-abuse 1st degree.
McDaniel was taken to the Lauderdale County Jail with a bond of $75,000.

“On December 31, 2021, Florence Police Officers responded to a call at 305 Redfield Road where a small New Years party had taken place. A female at the party didn’t feel well and she went to lie down. She was awakened to a male, identified as Nicholas McDaniel of Russellville, sodomizing her. McDaniel would not allow her to get out of bed. She screamed for him to stop and another guest entered the room and made McDaniel stop. McDaniel left the residence and was arrested for an unrelated DUI. McDaniel was located passed out in his car at a red light. Once officers realized he was the suspect involved at the residence he was later charged with Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd Degree, Sodomy 1st Degree, and Sexual Abuse 1st Degree. McDaniel is being held on a has a $75,200.00 bond.
