Obituary of Russell Ray Coleman Russell Ray Coleman, age 70 of Jackson, passed away on February 2, 2025 surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on July 3, 1954 in Decatur County, TN to Alvis “Ed” Jennings Coleman and Maggie Nell Davis Coleman.

Russell was a brick mason by trade. He enjoyed raising hound dogs and hunting raccoons. Playing poker was also a favorite pastime. Most weekends you could find Russell in the stands watching his grandson Tyler playing baseball.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pam Hampton Coleman; a son, Rusty Coleman of Pleasant View, TN; two daughters, Becky Coleman Smith (J.D.) of Jackson and Kelly Coleman (Brandon) of Ripley, TN. He also leaves behind four grandkids that were his world, Chase Porch, Knox Porch, Tyler Smith, and Olivia Smith; as well as four brothers and one sister.

A service to celebrate Russell’s life will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with burial to follow in Mason Wells Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit and share memories during visitation beginning at 11 a.m., two hours prior to the service.

Pallbearers to serve will be J.D. Smith, Tyler Smith, Donnie Hampton, Brandon Lindsey, Chase Porch, Knox Porch, Lee Hampton, and Charley Lewis.
