Mr. Royce Truitt went to meet his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 26, 2012, after a brief illness.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 1, 2012, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lexington United Methodist Church.  Services will follow with Rev. Sam Hayes officiating.  Burial will be at Pettus Cemetery.  Elkins East Chapel is assisting the family.
Royce was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He spent many enjoyable hours working in his yard and gardening.  His most treasured task during his later years was to unselfishly and lovingly care for Myrtie, his wife of 65 years.  He and Myrtie were seasoned travelers.  Along with trips to Texas to visit their daughter and grandchildren, they also enjoyed trips throughout the United States and to many foreign countries.
Royce served in the US Army during WWII.  He was a member of the American Legion, Lexington United Methodist Church, and local #550 electrician.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years Myrtie Truitt; son Timothy Charles Truitt; parents Robert H. and Missouri Belew Truitt; brothers Doyce and Lendon Truitt; sister Verna Hammond.
Mr. Truitt is survived by his daughter Joyce Springer and husband Lloyd; sister Etha King; brother Almon Truitt; grandchildren Terri Kroll and husband Todd and Scott Springer and wife Angela; great-grandchildren Kevin Kroll, Katie Kroll, Christopher Springer, and Ashlynn Springer.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
The family wishes to thank the Summit of Lawrenceburg staff for years of excellent care, especially director, Patti Shedd.
Expressions of sympathy may be given in his memory to Lexington United Methodist Church.
