Edna Earle Aycock Crowe – Obituary

Edna Earle Aycock Crowe, age 82 of Tuscumbia, died Sunday October 28, 2012 at her residence after and extended illness. Her family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m., at Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia. Rev. Ralton McCarly will be officiating. Soloist will be Alvin Alston.

Mrs. Crowe was a native and life long resident of Tuscumbia. She was a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Although Mrs. Crowe was handicapped with blindness in one eye; she was and excellent cook and made everyone feel welcome. She was a skilled seamstress, crafter and handywoman; she constructed wooden toy boxes with a hand saw, hammer and nails for her grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Earl “Bill” Crowe Sr.; her parents, Archie Ray and Ora Kent Aycock; son, Clifford Mancil “Buddy” Crowe; sisters, Mattie Jane Harrison, Fannie B. Marshall, Corinne Coburn and Reba Nell Coburn.

Survivors include her son, William Earl “Billy” Crowe Jr. (Sherry); daughter, Lynne Crowe Landers (Lynn); brother, Archie Lester Aycock (Louise); grandchildren, Jonathan Landers (Nicole) and Joel Landers; great grandchildren, Hunter, Zach, and Lexi Landers; brothers-in-law, Larry Coburn, Frank Coburn, Richard Crowe, P.M. Hughes and a host of relatives and friends.

Honorary and pallbearers are Sammy Dennis, O’Neal Crittenden, Kenneth Marshall, Keith Aycock, Hal Barrett, Gary Hodge, Adam Wagnon, Terry Coburn and Michael Wallace.

The family express special thanks to everyone who offered such great care to Mrs. Crowe and her family.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind @512 N. Main St. Tuscumbia, AL 35674.
