Mr. Oakley was a native of Lauderdale County, AL, a retired salesman from Vulco Rubber and of the Methodist faith. Survivors include: Wife- Beverly Daniel Oakley of Florence, AL; Son- Mark Oakley & wife Cindy of Florence, AL; 2 Daughters- Mellisa Conley & husband Johnny of Florence, AL; Charlotte Perkins & husband Roger of Florence, AL; 11 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; 3 Brothers- Jimmy Oakley & wife Barbara of Florence, AL; Trigger Oakley & wife Reba of Florence, AL; Gene Oakley & wife Donna of Florence, AL; 2 Sisters- Dot Whitten & husband Fred of Florence, AL; Jane Wright & husband Jason of Colinwood, TN; Several Nieces & Nephews; Preceded in death by: Parents- James D. & Ethel West Oakley; Brothers- Thomas Oakley; Jake & Jack Oakley; Sister- Ida May; Pallbearers will be: Anthony Balentine, Blaine Hester, Cory Conley, Chandler Patterson, Jeremy Harris, & Zac Joiner; The funeral service will be officiated by Phillip Springer. Burial to follow in Pisgah Cemetery. Mr. Oakley will lie in state from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church.
