Funeral service for Kathy Diane Tune, age 60, of Decatur, will be Friday, July 19, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Bond officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 18, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Tune, who died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born September 6, 1952, in Lawrence County, to Massie Mae Bond Carpenter. She grew up in Chicago and graduated from Tilden Technical High School. Mrs. Tune lived in Decatur for the past 37 years. She and Sam were married for 35 wonderful years, and she was a loving wife, mother, sister, and especially grandmother to her six grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Sam D. Tune of Decatur; two sons, Robert Jesse (Kimberly) of Ardmore, and Samuel Tune (Pam) of Decatur; one daughter, Dawn Dawson (Pete) of Priceville; four sisters, Faye Bishop, Jeanette Tapley, and Helen Nicholson (Dan), all of Priceville, and Margaret Fern Grandchamp of Hartselle; and six grandchildren, Chandler, Cameron, Lauren, Aubrey, Ethan, and Amber.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Grandchamp, Michael Putman, Patrick Springer, Jimmy Springer, Jimmy Tapley, and Dan Walls.
