Roy “Earl” Chamblee passed away from natural causes on August 10, 2021, leaving behind a legacy of the Lord’s grace and redemption.
Earl always had a story to tell from his early years. They were colorful, mischievous, and the perfect setting for his testimony. His wife, Gwen Chamblee, is the perfect example of a praying wife and is no doubt a large part of his story. Together with Gwen, he became a father to three daughters: Teresa, Judy, and Jerrie, and as the years went on, he began to learn what it looks like to be an earthly father through the lens of our Heavenly Father.
Earl’s favorite pastimes involved anything outdoors: fishing, hunting, and gardening to name a few. He was the first person to give something away and would take pride in sharing his prized possessions with you. When he wasn’t outdoors, you could find Earl catching up of the world news, watching old western films, or rooting for Alabama Crimson Tide.
Earl lived an incredibly full life leaving his memory with his wife, Gwen, his daughters, Teresa and Jerrie, and their husbands Joey and Charles; his sister Kathleen; his brothers Boyd, Cledith, and Edward; his grandchildren, Christy, Jeanie, Charlsie, Beth, and Amber; and his great grandchildren Brooklyn, Summer, MaKenzi, Jacey, Nicholas, Payton, Gage, Jessica, Jazlynn, Jayden, Lizzie, Ben, and Riley. They all think the world of him
He is now rejoicing in Heaven alongside his mother Pauline and his father Morgan; his daughter Judy; and his brothers Milford, Troy, and James.
Serving as pallbearers are Earl’s dear friends Brian Selvage and Jessie Mitchell, his future relative Jonah Miller, his nephew Keith Drain, his son-in-law Jerry Buchanan, and his cousin Rayford Williams.
In loving memory of Earl Chamblee, a man who won’t be soon forgotten.
