Rosemary DeWitt Dailey, 87, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday. Mrs. Dailey was a graduate of Rutgers University in New Jersey and was an active member of Epiphany United Methodist Church in Vienna, VA and of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Huntsville, AL. She was a volunteer in many community organizations. Mrs. Dailey was a lifelong student, loved baseball, was an avid gardener and also enjoyed travel. Mr. and Mrs. Dailey enjoyed a 29 year association with International Business Machines. In their 65 plus years of marriage, they lived in New Jersey, Virginia, Ohio, New York State, Alabama, DC area and retired to Huntsville, AL. Mr. and Mrs. Dailey worked with many IBM friends in the Apollo Saturn program which put Neil Armstrong on the moon in July of 1969.
Survivors include her husband, Richard M. Dailey; sons, Thomas John Dailey and wife, Deb, and James Richard Dailey and wife, Laura, of Huntsville; daughters, Kathi Lee Morgan and husband, David, of Danielsville, GA, and Kim Erin Jackley and husband, Mark of Potomac Falls, VA; brother and sister-in-law, John and Dolores DeWitt of Manahawkin, NJ; sister-in-law, Shirley Dailey of Brooklyn Park, MN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jere and Sharon Dailey of NC; grandchildren, Naomi Rose Morgan, Meghan Elizaeth Dailey, Zachary Thomas Dailey, Malorie LaShell Smith, Jennifer and Chris North, Aundrea and Dennis Geibler, Michael Robert Stoupa, Alan Charles Stoupa, Anna Mae Dailey and Natalie Rose Dailey; three great-grandchildren; seven nieces; and two nephews. She was also survived by Becky Dailey Dobbs, LaShell Smith Watson, and Robert Charles Stoupa, all special people in her life. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Hampton Dailey of MN.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 12901 Bailey Cove Rd., Huntsville, AL, with the Rev. Sherrill Clontz officiating.
