RUSSELLVILLE-Franklin County….1818 – 2018… The Franklin County Bicentennial Kickoff Celebration was held Tuesday, February 6 at the Franklin County Archives, 300 Limestone Street NE in Russellville.
The day started off by the Star-Spangled Banner played by the Russellville High School band as the Tuscumbia Color Guard presented the colors. An invocation by Jackie Richardson followed by a song written by the late Betty Starnes titled “Franklin County.”
Russellville attorney Roger Bedford served as master of ceremonies and State Representative Johnny Mack Morrow presented a proclamation commemorating the day from Governor Kay Ivey. Probate Judge Barry Moore read a presentation on Franklin County’s history . To end the outdoor celebration was an unveiling of a commemorative Franklin County Bicentennial marker by the Franklin County Commission.
