Rosa Mae Morrow, (aka Coot) was born to the late Henry and Maggie Lewis Young on January 22, 1926, in Shorter, Alabama. She departed this life Saturday, July 4, 2015, at her residence.
Rose obtained her formal education at Morgan County Training School. She was employed as a domestic worker for many years.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Hartselle Missionary Baptist Church. She married her childhood sweetheart, the late Joseph Morrow Jr., and they moved to New Jersey in 1946. While in New Jersey, Rose was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Orange, New Jersey, for over 35 years where she loved singing in the choir. She then relocated back to Alabama, where she reunited with Hartselle Missionary Baptist Church.
She was very outgoing and loved to travel; she was the best mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend anyone could have. She showed love to everyone she knew and always kept that beautiful smile on her face and kind words in her mouth. Rose loved the Lord, her family and her church. To know her was to love her. She is predeceased by her son, John Fant; and eight siblings, Amos, Henry, Floyd, Bernice, Annie Ruth, Ida Bell, Emma and Charles.
The life, love and memories of Rose will be forever cherished by her loving children, JoeAnn Morrow, of Newark, New Jersey; David Morrow (Betty) of Atlanta, Georgia; Rosalind Morrow-Hollinhead (Clint), of Pensacola, Florida; Richard Morrow, of Decatur; two brothers, Bill and Larry Young, of Hartselle; two sisters, Bessie Vines, Miami Beach, Florida, and Gwenette Burton, Huntsville; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; a devoted friend and confidante, Edith Ann Williams; and a very special daughter-in-law, Pat Morrow; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
