FLORENCE-Room in the Inn Shoals celebrated five seasons as an organization earlier this year, and has restructured to welcome a full-time director due to its growth in the community. Friends and family were on hand to help with the celebration. The Shoals Chamber marked the event by hosting a ribbon cutting.
The Shoals Chamber congratulated Room in the Inn and new director Krista Manchester:
“Big thank you to Director Krista Manchester, the RITI Board of Directors, and all the many volunteers for reminding us that the Shoals is and continues to be a place “where everyone matters!”
A little information about Room in the Inn:
“Room in the Inn Shoals Inc. is an interfaith, community-based partnership that provides food and shelter to homeless during the winter months. It is made up of more than 30 congregations and organizations, with an 11-member Board of Directors. RITI provides nightly emergency shelter beginning nightly November 1st until March 24th.
RITI does not and cannot fix homelessness; but it does change people. By offering radical hospitality, congregations can understand the people who live in their community. All of a sudden, “those people” become real people – with names and stories. If you are interested in partnering as a host congregation or becoming a volunteer with Room in the Inn, visit their website at www.roomintheinnshoals.com.”
The Shoals Chamber was on hand to capture the event in photos and we present them to you here:
