Ronnie Gerald Thompson was born August 14, 1948 and went to meet his Heavenly Father on May 22, 2022. Ronnie was a devoted husband, loving Dad and a wonderful PawPaw. He was a Christian man and loved attending church with his wife and fellow church family. Ronnie was an avid Alabama football fan and loved being with his family and playing with his grandchildren.
Ronnie was born and raised in Talladega, Alabama and a graduate of Winterboro High School. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a part of the Big Red One Unit.
Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his father Henry (Rube) Thompson and his mother Dorothy Trammell Thompson. Also, his brother David Thompson and sister Laura Thompson Rush.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Brenda (McClendon) Thompson, daughter Ashley Thompson Gulick (Jared), two beautiful grandchildren Peyton and Elijah Gulick, and stepson Jimmy McClendon.
Brothers Donnie Thompson, Roger (Curly) Thompson (Nita), Bob Thompson (Kim), Danny Thompson (Margaret), Tony Thompson. Sisters Sherry Champion (Tim), Gigi Horton (Chris) and Lindy Smith (Steve).
Aunts Barbara McBurnette and Gladys Graham. Uncles Thomas (Buddy) Trammell and Paul Trammell (Nancy). He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Ronnie will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the chapel of Adams Brown Service Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Morrell Upchurch officiating, burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery of Boaz.
Pallbearers will include Steve Smith, Chris Horton, Tim Champion, Matthew Malone, Keigan Lane, and Alex Aikens
