 Obituary of Ronald Gale AkersRonald G. Akers, 80, of Altoona Alabama passed away November 26, 2018. He was born November 17, 1938 in Mingo County, West Virginia, a son of the late Hank Akers and Ruth Akers.

He retired after a long career in the grocery business. The most important job he had was being a loving husband and father.

Survivors of Mr. Akers include his loving wife of 58 years, Dolly Akers of Altoona, son Ronald Bruce Akers and wife Debbie, of Meridianville, AL and daughters Rhonda Denise Webb and husband Robert, of Boaz, AL and Patty Ann Avery and husband Guy, of Huntsville, AL. Grandchildren, Amanda Akers, Matt Akers, Tyler Webb and Fiancé Magen Smith, Jordan Webb, Heather Whisenant and husband Jason, Tanner Avery, Trent Avery, Andrew Akers and William Akers; Great-grandchildren, Joey Winkler, Tessa Pierce , Hadden Whisenant and Edith Whisenant; sisters Rita Hager, Glennita Kasper, Jill Loving, and Mary Bender.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jack Akers and Hank Akers Jr. and son, Derek Andrew Akers.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Valhalla Funeral Home in Huntsville Alabama, 698 Winchester Road NE with Rev. Milburn Gross Jr. officiating. The Eulogy will be given by Ashley Ramage. The family will receive friends from 10-11am prior to the service. Entombment will immediately follow services at Valhalla Memory Gardens at the Chapel of Love Mausoleum.
