Mr. Roger Alan Kime, 73, died peacefully at his Scottsboro home on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
Roger was born on September 2, 1945 in Newark, OH. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debra Reed Kime and their three children: Jacob Kime of Forsyth, GA and his wife Debra and their children Sydney, Thomas, and Edward; Rebecca Comstock of South Pittsburg, TN and her husband Corey and their children Megan and Jenna; and Jared Kime of Birmingham, AL and his wife Jessica and their children Isaiah, Elliot, and Benjamin; and his sister, Janet Byrnes, of Cincinnati, OH and her husband Bruce.
He is preceded in death by parents Howard and Berniece Kime.
Roger was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching his children and their peers in recreation league baseball, soccer, and basketball. He was also a proud supporter of all Scottsboro athletics but especially Scottsboro High School baseball where he served the program as the Dugout Club President for many years. He was a member of Broad Street Church of Christ where he also served as a deacon.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 4 at 12:00 p.m. at Broad Street Church of Christ with Terry Broome officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Roger’s behalf to the Broad Street Church of Christ Youth Fund.
