Rodger Dale Morrison Profile Photo Rodger Dale Morrison, 76, of Harvest, passed away on September 5, 2026 at home with his loving family by his side, after a year long battle with cancer and a decade of fighting Parkinson’s Disease.

Mr. Morrison was born in Cape Girardeau, MO, graduated from Delta High School in Delta, MO and was a graduate from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.

He had a lifelong career as a Forensic Scientist in Cape Girardeau, MO, Sanford, FL, and Huntsville, AL, retiring from the Alabama Department of Forensic Science as the Director of the Huntsville Regional Lab.  After retirement, he continued in the forensic field as an expert witness in partnership with John Kilbourn.

He enjoyed many hobbies and activities, 50 years of growing orchids, an avid hunter, master gardener, photography and wood turning, along with enjoying his son’s activities and the light of his eyes…his grandchildren.

Mr. Morrison is survived by his spouse of 53 years, Brenda Hillis Morrison; children, George (Erin) Morrison, of Owens Cross Roads, AL and William (Gia) Morrison, of  Madison, AL; grandchildren: Nicholas, Evan, Aubrey, Isla and Macsen Morrison and siblings, Darrell (Ruth Ann) Morrison and Pam (Buzz) Goodson, of Cape Girardeau, MO.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 18th from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Foundation (The Parkinson’s Foundation) or Parkinson Dynamics (parkinsonsdynamics.org).
