Robert Sanders “Bobby” Terry, age 78, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015. There will be a celebration of his life, Saturday, November 21, 2015, 10 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church with Deacon Tom Osborne and Reverend Callie Plunkett-Brewton officiating.
He is survived by his daughter; Valerie Terry Wesson and grandson; William Carter Wesson of Sheffield.
Bobby was born in Florence, Alabama and attended Kilby School, Coffee High School and the University of Alabama where he pledged Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served in the U. S. Army reserve.
He was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry. He served on the Board of Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club and played with the Alabama Cavaliers Band. He was active in Saint Joseph Catholic School, where his grandson, Carter was a student; the Sheffield Little League Baseball organization as well as Sheffield High School baseball.
Bobby was an insurance adjuster for GAB in Florence and was retired from Crawford and Company where he worked on the catastrophe team.
Bobby was preceded in death by his wife; Diana Gambill Terry, his parents; Comine and Robert Terry and his sister; Martha Jo Daniel.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Mrs. Joan Curtis and the staff of Amedisys Hospice for the care and concern shown to Bobby.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church or a charity of your choosing.
