Robert Patrick Moss August 12,1943 – March 25, 2026
Robert “Bob” passed away at home with his wife by his side.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Spencer Moss and Helen Marie Ford
Moss (1944); Gladys Moss, stepmom; Elizabeth Moss Roark, sister.
He is survived by his wife Joyce.
Brother; Joe Moss (Lynne), Daughter; Michelle Sumners (Mike), Sons; Todd Raby, Michael
Raby (Toni), Grandchildren; Lauren Howland, Spencer Hasting (Jasmine), Sarah Arrington
(Keith), Katy Raby. Great-grandchildren; Oliver, Carson, Conner.
Robert joined the Navy in July of 1961 at age 17 and served as a submariner until 1965. He
served on the Barracuda out of Key West, Florida and on the Quillback to the Mediterranean
Sea for Special Ops.
After 52 years in electronic engineering, he retired from Sanmina Corporation. His job allowed
him to travel to countries all across the world. He was a Vice Commander of the Redstone
Submarine Veteran group. He especially enjoyed attending veteran reunions throughout the
U.S, trips to Hawaii, and his farm & animals. His love for his country was always evident.
Visitation – Monday, March 30, 2026, 11:00 am – 12:45 pm
Service – 1:00 PM
Limestone Chapel Funeral Home of Athens, Alabama
Burial to follow at New Grove Cemetery in Ardmore, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made in Bob’s memory to St. Jude, Tunnel to Towers, Shriner’s Hospital for Children or your favorite charity.
