Robert Newlon Harris, 80, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday. He is survived by his wife, Ida Harris. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Harris was born in Tennessee and became a professional butcher in Florida where he and his wife resided for over 40 years. He was the butcher in many high-quality restaurants and traveled to teach the skills of butchery to craftsmen. His hobbies included sailing and golf. He loved the peaceful life of the sea.
He raised dogs for many years who were like his family. He had a heart that was full of love and compassion not only for his pets but for enjoying the outdoors and other people. His soft and loving voice will be missed.
