Dr. Robert Len Baird Dr. Robert Len Baird died peacefully on January 15th, 2021 in Huntsville, AL with his family by his side, ending a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Dr. Baird was born January 23, 1945 to Robert and Jimmie Maurice Baird in Haynesville, LA. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University, and his M.D. from Louisiana State University in New Orleans, LA, where he graduated with honors. In New Orleans, Len met his wife Louise and they married on January 20, 1973 in Gramercy, LA. After completing his internship and residency in Shreveport, LA, Dr. Baird served overseas in the Army for 2 years.

Dr. Baird was a well-respected colorectal surgeon in Huntsville, AL, where he practiced for over 30 years. Dr. Baird was known to his colleagues, nurses, and patients as a compassionate and caring physician. His strong work ethic and love of learning inspired those around him, both family and colleagues to strive for excellence.

Dr. Baird is survived by his wife, Louise; cousin, Henry Mauldin; his daughter, Rebecca Lindgren; his son, Whit; his son-in-law, Paul Lindgren; his daughter-in-law, Erin; his granddaughter, Abigail; his grandson, Matthew Lindgren; and his granddaughter, Charlotte Lindgren.

The family will hold a private burial service for Dr. Baird at this time. A memorial service will be held at a future time and location.
