Robert Lee Suggs was born June 23, 1936 and departed this life, Sunday, July 17,
2016 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, Florence, Alabama. He was born in Russellville, Alabama to Will Suggs and Carrie Graham Suggs. Robert graduated from Reedtown High School, Russellville, Ala. He retired from Smelting Steel of North Chicago, Heilig-Meyers, Russellville, Alabama and was a handyman of the Franklin and Colbert counties.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 23, 2016, 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Inc. 27305 Highway 24 East, Russellville, Alabama. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Russellville, Ala. at 3:30 p.m.
Memories will be cherished by his loving wife, Martha, children: Sharon Suggs, of Nashville, TN, Brian Suggs (Chiquita), of Madison, AL, Nachole Suggs, of Stone Mt., GA, Gregory Varnado (Jacinda), of Florissant, MO, Anthony Varnado, of Lincoln, IL, Olivia Russels (Joseph) of Sheffield, AL and Jonathan Coburn (Ramona) of Sheffield, AL, devoted niece, Sheronda Head (Steve), of Acworth, GA, sister, Annie Suggs, Russellville, AL, brother, Percy Carter, Chicago, IL, sister-in-law, Linda A. Charleston (Johnny), brother-in-law, Cornelius Morton (Quallia), Peoria, IL, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, great-great-great nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded by death by his sisters, Callie Adams and Hattie Suggs and brothers; James O’Neal and Charlie H. Carter, William Perry “Bishop” Smith.
