Bro. Robert J. McKay, age 87, of Sulligent, AL passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 at his residence.  Private family funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 11:00am from Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Sulligent City Cemetery.  The funeral service will be live-streamed at 11:00am on the Otts Funeral Home Facebook page.  Bro. Danny Hollis and Bro. Matthew Paul to officiate.

Bro. Robert was born on February 17, 1933 in Sulligent, AL to the late Rome McKay and the late Martha Cantrell.  He owned and operated McKay Construction.  Bro. Robert was a member of a gospel group called The McKay Brothers that recorded in Nashville, TN and played on the Grand Ole Opry.  He also was a barber and loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar and mandolin.  Bro. Robert was affiliated with the Independent Church of God. He was in ministry for a total of 63 years of which he pastored for 13 years and evangelized for 50 years.

Sons: Dennis McKay (Leslie), Columbus, MS

Donald McKay (Deborah), Vernon, AL

Daughters: Betty Merchant, Guin, AL

Freda Parker, Vernon, AL

Special Friend: Fallyn Whitlock, Okalona, MS

Grandchildren: 9

Great Grandchildren: 17
