Robert Edward Smith, age 62, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Russellville Hospital.
Robert was a loving husband, father, a civil engineer with the State of Alabama, and a mason with the Phil Campbell Masonic Lodge #880, but first and most importantly, Robert was a Christian. He never met a stranger, always friendly, and always being a jokester.
His visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 04, 2019 at Spry Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 05, 2019 at Phil Campbell City Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Smith and his mother, Margaret Daniels Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 40 years, Peggy Huckaba Smith; son, Samuel Robert Smith; brothers, Mike Smith (wife, Joann), Mark Smith (wife, Janet); niece, Rebecca Stewart (husband, Jeremy); nephew, Ethan Daniel Smith; and three great-nieces, Devan, Alexis, and Lily Stewart.
