Ernestine Oglesby Stanford, age 92, of Sulligent, AL, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the residence. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 6:00 pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Wofford Cemetery. Bro. Jason Clifton to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 5:00pm until service time at 6:00pm.
Ernestine was born in Lamar County on August 8, 1926 to the late Sam Oglesby Sr. and the late Leila Morris. She previously worked as the owner operator of a small business. Ernestine alongside her husband owned and operated D.L. Stanford’s service station for many years. She was a member of Oak Hill Methodist Church and previously taught Sunday school. She enjoyed reading the Bible, crocheting, and sewing.
