Robert (Bobby) Ayers Profile Photo Robert C. Ayers was born on September 21, 1949, in Selmer, TN. He was the son of the late Robert W. (Wallace) and Shirley Clayton Ayers. He departed this life on March 12, 2024, at home at the age of 74.

Bobby graduated from Ramer High School in May 1967. On September 27,1968, he was united in marriage to Kathy (Robertson) Ayers, his high school sweetheart. He proudly served his country in the United States Army by serving in the Vietnam War.

After returning from his service, he was employed by ITT from 1968 to 1993. After ITT, he worked with his brother-in-law’s logging company, Robertson Logging, until his retirement in 2012.

Bobby was a lifelong member of the Antioch Church of Christ in Ramer where he had attended his entire life. He had served as an Elder and Bible School teacher for over 30 years.

Mr. Ayers enjoyed raising vegetables and pumpkins. For many years, one could find him at the red barn in Eastview peddling his tomatoes and pumpkins.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathy Ayers, of Ramer, TN and two daughters, Terri Anderson (John) from Nashville, TN and Robin Arnwine of Gravel Hill, TN. Also, he is survived by his four grandchildren, Noah Anderson of Seattle, WA, Luke Anderson of Colorado Springs, Co, Jackson and Meredith Arnwine of Gravel Hill, TN. In addition, he is survived by his 6 siblings: Dan (Lisa) Ayers of Ramer, TN, Bill (MaryAnn) Ayers of Collierville, TN, Donna (Nelson) Siler of Bethel Springs, TN, Wanda (Donnie) Crider of Atwood, TN, Ron (Kim) Ayers of Martin, TN and Sherry (Randall) Deaton of Adamsville, TN; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his in-laws, James Lewis and Mary Lou Robertson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Antioch church of Christ or Pine Vale Children’s Home 1872 CR 700 Corinth MS 38834.
