Rita Jane Simmons, 70, of Athens, passed away on Thursday, September 4th, 2025. Ms. Simmons was born on November 13th, 1954, to Elmer and Vera (Thornton) Simmons.
Ms. Simmons is survived by her daughters, Mandy Moran and Ashley Glossup (Clint); grandchildren Tyler Graham, Trent Graham, Bailee Glossup, Bentlee Glossup, Brylee Glossup; siblings, Eddie Simmons (Patricia) and Rhonda Moore (Larry); and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Vera Simmons; siblings, Charlene Schrimsher and Deborah Simmons.
The graveside service will be Wednesday, September 10th, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Reunion Cemetery, with Eddie Littrell officiating.
Ms. Simmons loved Tennessee football and her cat, Nala. She also loved all animals, her grandchildren, and the Lord. She loved Halloween, scary movies, and music.
