Ricky Langley, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at the age of 57. A native and lifelong resident of Albertville, Alabama, Ricky was a larger-than-life personality, known for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and love for family. He lived a passionate life whether it was enthusiastically cheering on his beloved Auburn Tigers—win or lose—or mastering the art of grilling, where he turned simple meals into delicious and memorable events. Ricky’s warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone, and his absence leaves a void in the hearts of many.
Ricky is survived by his children, Farryn Langley and Kase Langley, who were the pride and joy of his life. He is also deeply missed by his devoted mother, Paula Langley; his sister, Laura Gibbs, and her family—niece Chelsea Gibbs, great-nieces Marley and Ella Gibbs, and nephew Brady Gibbs; his brother, Chris Langley, and his wife, Christa Langley, along with their family—niece Rachael Langley and her husband, Josh Madsen; and his brother, David Langley, and his family—niece Mayli Langley and nephews Ryder and Dax Langley. Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Richard A. Langley, of Camp Hill, Alabama. Ricky’s love for others was unconditional, and he took great pride in creating memories filled with laughter, love, and joy that will be treasured forever.
While Ricky’s time on Earth was far too short, his legacy of love and laughter will live on in the many lives he touched. Whether it was a spirited game-day celebration or a backyard barbecue, Ricky loved getting people together and making them feel loved. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Ricky will be deeply missed, and may his memory inspire those he leaves behind to live with kindness, humor, and generosity.
A celebration of life will be held for Ricky from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 at Albertville Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, whose compassionate care and support during these last few weeks brought great comfort to Ricky and his loved ones.
Arrangements entrusted to Albertville Memorial Chapel.
