Rick Chandler, 66, of Decatur, AL passed away after a hard-fought battle with illness on April 10, 2025. A funeral will be held in his honor at Tanner Church of Christ on April 14, 2025, at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 am. Family visitation begins at 9:00 am.
Rick was born in Decatur, AL on August 14, 1958, to Richard and Shirley Chandler. He was an avid fisherman who loved being on the water. Rick was a beacon of faith, wisdom, and compassion, touching countless lives through his dedication to teaching and sharing the Word of God at his church and to his neighbors at the senior living complex. He volunteered his time at Limestone County Jail, leading Bible studies for the inmates. His generosity and warm spirit touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Chandler. He is survived by his father, Richard Chandler, his children, Matthew Chandler, Christy Truss (Bo), Jeremy Chandler (Priscilla), Heather Mosley (David), and Ally Padgett (Clayton) and his grandchildren: Trey, Madilyn, Faith, Hope, London, Logan, Tilly, Della, Colton, Rex, Everly, Blakely, and Slayton.
