Richard W. (Billy) Hall III passed away Wednesday, July 29, in the Tuscumbia home where he had lived for more than 60 years. Visitation will be Friday, July 31, at 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A service will take place in the chapel at 3 with Bubba Cole officiating. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Martha Jeanice Hall; his parents, Richard William and Helen Enlow Hall; parents-in-law, John E. (Dan) and Louise Crittenden; sister, Dianne Hall Handley and her husband, Jesse; sister-in-law, Sue Suggs and her husband, Raymond; brothers-in-law, Roger Crittenden and Steve Crittenden.
Billy is survived by his son, Richard W. Hall IV and his wife, Vicki; sisters-in-law, Gail Greene and her husband, Richard, and Brenda Crittenden; and several nieces and nephews.
Billy lived in Tuscumbia all his life. He was a chemical operator at what is now Cherokee Nitrogen. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching college football in the fall with his son, Richard. They had lunch together most every Saturday and traveled to many football games together. He spoiled his late wife, Martha, and took care of her through health challenges and all of life’s ups and downs.
Pallbearers will be Eric Greene, Robbie Suggs, Sherman Allen, Will Little, Brian Hall and David Stell.
The family would like to thank Kelly Hulsey, Keinan Mendez and Tabitha Borden and Hospice of North Alabama for the exceptional care they gave Billy the past few weeks.
Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
