Richard Lindsey Howell, 47, Altamonte Springs, FL. formerly of Haleyville, AL. passed away Saturday February 2, 2013. Survivors are his father, Paul Lindsey Howell(wife Kathy Swims Howell); his son Jeb Lindsey Howell; brothers, Charles Howell and Zachary Knight. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Gail Thomas Howell. Richard attended Haleyville City Schools graduating in the HHS Class of 1984, was a Desert Storm Vet who served four years in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne DIV and was decorated for Valor and as Combat Lifesaver in ground operations in Iraq. He was a dedicated employee for a vending company in Longwood, FL. for the last 7 years. Richard attended and served the Tri-City Church of Christ where he lead singing and was preparing his first sermon with his good friend Tom Leavins(Preacher). Visitation is Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville. Graveside service, Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Winston Memorial Cemetery with Vance Hutton officiating.
