Mrs. Rebecca Newton, age 79 of Hurricane Mills, TN, passed away Wednesday July 15, 2026. Rebecca was born March 13, 1947, in Hammond, Indiana to the late Issac Collins and Peggy Collins. Rebecca married the late William Jerome Newton on June 11, 1965. They had three children, Jerome, Kirstie and Kim. Rebecca retired from Sam’s Wholesale Club. She loved crocheting, decorating cakes and spending time with her family. Rebecca leaves to cherish three children Jerome Newton (Tonya) of Waverly, TN, Kirstie Dudley (Mike) of Hurricane Mills, TN, Kim Dudley of McEwen , TN, Six Grandchildren Michael Dudley (Kelly) of Memphis, TN, Kristopher Dudley (Sarah) of Hurricane Mills, TN, Josie Newton (Dustin) of Shelbyville, TN, Kara Dudley (Chris) of Whitebluff, TN, Andrew Newton (Savannah) of Cumberland Furnace, TN, Tommy Dudley of McEwen, TN, Five great grandchildren Zoey Newton, Bentley Lynch, Winston Lynch, Miller Lynch and Isabella Nicole. Her Sisters Karen Rutherford (Stephen) of Greenville, TN, Shirley Elliot of Decherd, TN, Ruth Carter of Tullahoma, TN, Brothers Kenneth Collins of Winchester Springs, TN, Darrell Collins (Kathy) of Estill Springs, TN and Paul Collins of Nashville, TN. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband William Jerome Newton, her father Issac Collins, mother Peggy Collins, sisters Margret Noblett and Debbie Brannon. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11:00am – 3:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral service following at 3:00pm from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens Mike Dudley, Jerome Newton, Andrew Newton, Michael Dudley, Kristopher Dudley, Tommy Dudley all serving as pallbearers; Bentley Lynch, Winston Lynch and Zoey Newton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
