Reba Mae Gordon, 80 of Ardmore, Tennessee died on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Ardmore Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Born Tuesday, January 16, 1934 in Elkmont, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Leo Wendell Magnusson and the late Jessie Bee Pittman Magnusson. She was a lifelong resident of the Ardmore/Elkmont area and was a member of Elkton Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Clarence Hines “Buddy” Gordon, Jr, a daughter: Le Anna Bennett, and a sister Anna M Blackwell. Mrs. Gordon was known in the business community for all her business ventures, ie forty plus years at the Bank of Ardmore, which included her being one of the first females to be promoted to office at the Bank of Ardmore, and later promoted to asst. vp in 1977, and then Sr. loan officer. She served as a member of the community of Ardmore until she retired. She also spent 15 plus years in the retail business at Parisians in Huntsville, and was one of their top producers in the nation. Even though she was known as a business woman, her biggest passion was the love she had for her family. Her husband Buddy was the love of her life, her daughters were her biggest blessings, and her grandchildren were her biggest joys. She had a great love for her siblings and was known as Aunt Bee to her many nieces and nephews.
Surviving are daughter, Star & John Hill of Chandler, AZ, brother, Jim & Lillian Magnusson of Ardmore, TN, sister, Patricia & David Bryant of Ardmore, AL, grandchildren: Zeke Hill, Anaheed Hill, Sydnee Bennett and Sam Bennett.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Jason Shackelford, Gary Hargrove, Jimmy Butler, Billy Bryant, and Sam Biggerstaff officiating. Burial will be in Hasting Cemetery, Ardmore, AL. Pallbearers will be Keith Blackwell, Daryl Bryant, Lane Blackwell, Chase Hargrove, Aaron Blackwell, Ryan Blackwell, Zeke Hill, and Sam Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Magnusson, Patrick Magnusson, Blake Magnusson, Bryan Blackwell, and Dickie Hargrove.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
