Raymond “Ray” William Fogarty, age 75, resident of Blue Springs, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union County following an extended illness.
Per his request, Ray will be cremated.
Born on October 4, 1951, in Ottawa, Illinois, to the late Justin Fogarty and Dorothy Dunn Lahey, Ray received his education at Ottawa High School and later attended community college. He spent many years working in the furniture factory industry before retiring. He was also a Christian.
Ray was a man who knew what he liked and preferred things his own way! A true homebody, he enjoyed spending his time watching baseball and football, especially cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He also took great pleasure in caring for his many houseplants and looking after his faithful companion, his dog, Boo-Boo.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved sister, Denise Nichols (Neal smith) of Blue Springs; his close cousins, Mary Fillippini, David Bayer, Nancy Barta, and Harold Hill; and his loving nieces and nephews, Melissa Robbins, Larry Nichols, Jr., David Nichols, Jr., Brian Fogarty, Kathy smith, and Darrin Nichols.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Becky Nichols; and one brother, Tom Fogarty.
New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care is honored to serve the Fogarty family and invites friends and loved ones to share their memories and condolences with the family.
“May you find rest from your labors, peace from your pain, and light on your journey ahead. You are surrounded by love, remembered with fondness, and held safely in our hearts forever. Rest softly.”
