Raymond Lee Whalen, of Madison, Alabama, passed away on July 23, 2024.  Mr. Whalen was born June 22, 1938, in Steelville, Missouri to Earl Patrick Whalen and Charlotte Eleen Whalen of Manzanola, Colorado who preceded him in death.

He was married to Joan Marie Hewlett on February 14, 1976, in Huntsville Alabama who preceded him in death in 2009.

Mr. Whalen was in the Army from 1960 to 1967; Army Reserves from 1960 to 1962 and 1962 to 1968; Air Force from 1962 to 1964; Pueblo Army Depot from 1960 to 1964 and Redstone Arsenal from 1964 to 1995.

He is survived by sons, Rodney L. Whalen of Boone, Colorado and Clayton M Whalen of Pueblo, Colorado.  Grandson Tyler P. Whalen (Linnea) of Parker, Colorado. Two great granddaughters Sophia Whalen and Madison Whalen of Parker, Colorado.

He is also survived by siblings; Agnes Sanders of Steelville, Missouri, Patricia Whalen of Santa Monica, California, Ellen Craig of Madison, Alabama, Roger Whalen of Fowler, Colorado and sister-in-law Janet (Henry) Younger of Gurley, Alabama also numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 10:00 am until 12:00pm at Berryhill Funeral Home with a Chapel service at 12:00pm with Reverend Charles Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow at Gurley City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers family suggest donations be made to your favorite Charity.
