Randy Ray Hall, at age 70, met his Creator from his residence in the Tater Hills Community near Plantersville on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022 after a lingering illness. Randy was born in Lee County on January 9, 1952 to the late Claude Hall and Arthur Lee Rye Hall. He attended Plantersville Schools and had a long working career as a HVAC Technician. After he left that career, he spent several years working in his sister, Joanne’s business, Kermit’s Bakery on Main St in Tupelo. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church near Plantersville. Randy loved the outdoors before becoming disabled and enjoyed fishing especially. He was an avid fan of wrestling and seldom missed a match locally or on TV. He watched Western’s regularly with Gunsmoke being his favorite and he enjoyed listening to music. Randy doted over his grandson’s, Zack and Alex and seldom left the side of his beloved dog, Moose.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 10 AM Friday, December 16, 2022 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with his former pastor, Bro. Bob O’Neal officiating. Private burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 am-service time on Friday only. Randy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Shirley Haley Hall, to whom he married May 30, 1978; his sons, Randy Ray Hall, Jr (Heather) of Tupelo and Brad Hall (Kristy) of Plantersville; his daughter, Angela Hall of Florida; two grandsons, Zack and Alex Hall of Fulton and two sisters, Shirley Hall LeBrant of Pearl and Peggy Hall Thornhill of North Carolina, and a special friend Jane Swanson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Arthur Hall; his son, Randy Dale Hall and his siblings, Jimmy Hall, Patsy Yielding and Joanne Grimes.
