Dr. Randy Jackson Parker, 71, of Sheffield Alabama passed away into Glory on Friday March 29, 2024.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 1-2 PM at Elkins Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the chapel with Kirk Bishop and Chad Hess officiating. Burial will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Dr. Randy served at NW Shoals Community College for 20 years as Vice-President. He also served at Snead State and Calhoun College earlier in his career.
Dr. Randy and his wife Paige went to DC for several years where Randy served as a contract employee for the Department of Labor in the Workforce Development Programs. He also worked for the EPA, helping communities nationwide to locate and clean up Brownfields. He was an active member of the C.O.I.N. Program (Coin, Open, Investigate, Navigate; (Helping at risk youth that enter the juvenile system).
Dr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents,Clifton Parker and Ora Dean Jackson Parker; brother, Joel Parker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Paige Elkins Parker; step daughter, Kaylia Waldrep; grandchildren, Baxton Bullington and Foster Waldrep; sister, Freda Jones; nieces, Brandey Burnett (Kevin), Missy Tullos (Brian) and Kerry Murphy (Paul); nephew, Bill Parker (Audra); great nieces and nephews.
