Asa Loyd Chennault Asa Loyd Chennault, age 91, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday morning, at Morning Pointe of Spring Hill.

 

Born on September 7, 1932, in Summertown, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Ernest Chennault and the late Violia Rubert Chennault. He served his country in the United States Army and was a devoted Freemason. He found joy in simple pleasures, such as exercising, washing his car, doing yard work, and fishing. He enjoyed the moments shared over coffee with his friends at McDonald’s. He was of the Christian faith.

 

He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Chennault of Columbia, TN, Randy (Jennifer) Chennault of Chattanooga, TN, David (Paula) Chennault of Thompsons Station, TN, brother, Ernest (Roberta) Chennault, Jr. of Summertown, TN, sisters, Ruby Jean Haymons of California, Bonnie Springer of Washington, IL, grandchildren, Nikki, Anna, Jessica, Alec, and Emma, great grandchildren, Jack and Luke, and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Chennault, and sister, Joy Kay Ward.

 

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff and residents at Morning Pointe of Spring Hill for their exceptional care and friendship and to Gentiva Hospice for their care and compassion.

 

He will be laid to rest in Neapolis Cemetery at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
