Funeral Service for Mr. Randall O’dell Casey, age 62 of Ashland, will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at the Brown Cemetery in Bluff Springs.

Mr. Casey passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at his home. Randall was born in Talladega but moved to Clay County when he was 8, residing here until his death. He had many jobs in his lifetime; he worked construction, worked at Clay County Hospital and Clay County Nursing Home. He also worked at Harris Dam during its construction and was a truck driver until he suffered a spinal cord injury in 1983.

He loved his community and worked as a volunteer firefighter and as fire chief at Bluff Springs Volunteer Fire Department at one time. He also worked as a reserve deputy with the Clay County Sheriff’s Department from the late 1980’s until 2019. He was a beloved husband and loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Darlene Casey; a daughter, Chasity Casey(Jon); a son, Colton Casey(Rita); four grandchildren, Aiden Casey, Makenzie Casey, Bethany Casey and Madelynn Casey; his parents, Nancy and Raiford Smith; two brothers, Walter Lynn Smith(Angie) and Harry Casey(Melissa); a sister, Gail Thomas(Dennis), and many nieces and nephews, and a large extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, W.J. Casey and grandmother, Cora Lee Casey; uncle Jimmy Casey and aunt Mildred Casey.

Pallbearers will be Jacky Brown, Colton Casey, Harry Casey, Kevin Horn, Dennis Thomas, Nick Miller and Riley Nelson.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 5:00P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
