Rainsville Man dies From Injuries Received In Two-Vehicle Crash In Dekalb County

DEKALB COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident in Dekalb County has taken the life of one person:

“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, has claimed the life of Rainsville man.

Aubrey D. Jones, 59, was fatally injured when the 2005 Buick Lesabre that he was driving struck a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Cindy R. Tilley, 46, of Fort Payne. Jones was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Tilley was also injured and airlifted to Erlanger Hospital, in Chattanooga, Tenn. for treatment.

The crash occurred on Dekalb County 116 near Dekalb County 688, approximately four miles east of Sylvania, in Dekalb County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
