GUNTERSVILLE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident near Guntersville has taken the life of an Albertville teen and sent two other people to hospital with injuries:
“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:58 p.m. Monday, August 4, has claimed the life of an Albertville teen.
The 17-year-old was critically injured when the 2005 Honda CBR600 motorcycle that the teen was a passenger on, left the roadway and struck a ditch. As a result of the impact, the operator of the Honda, Dakota S. Hammond, 20, of Albertville and the teen were both thrown from the Honda. After the initial impact, the Honda then struck a 1999 Buick Century driven by Latisha R. Puckett, 35, of Albertville.
The juvenile was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment where the youth later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased while at the hospital. Hammond was injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. Puckett, who was not using a seat belt at the time of crash, was also injured and transported to Marshall Medical Center North for treatment.
The crash occurred on Pleasant Hill Road near Patterson Drive, approximately five miles south of Guntersville, in Marshall County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
