Rachel Xalisco Barr Profile Photo Rachel Xalisco Barr, 97, resident of Columbia, TN, entered her eternal resting place with our precious Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with her nephews Dalton Cole and Brent Cooper officiating.   The family will visit with friends Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 1:00 P.M. until time of the services at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the charity of your choice.

Rachel was born August 16, 1926 in Mt. Pleasant, TN to the late Isy Lee Downey and Bennet Allan Davis.

Rachel was well loved by her family and friends and took pride in her grandchildren and was well known for all of her sewing abilities and many crafting talents as well as camping and traveling the world with her late husband Rayburn.  She was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ in Columbia.  Rachel worked as a buyer for Parks Belk for 25 years before retiring.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children; daughter, Sharon Skinner of Columbia with whom she has lived with for the past 15 years and her son Steve (Sharon) Barr of Columbia; three grandchildren, Dana (Richard) Smith, Heather (Ernie) Martin, Stephanie (Brad) Stacy; five great grandchildren, Mallory (Josiah) O’Neill, Madison (Logan) Worthy, Bryce Butler, Chloe Butler and Brayden Stacy; three great great grandchildren, Kennedy, Storie and Jolie O’Neill; brother, Austin (Linda) Davis; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Spencer and Sue Patterson; she also leaves behind to cherish her memory a niece Faye Cooper and a nephew Jerry Attkisson as well as several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rachel is preceded in death by her beloved husband Rayburn Anderson Barr; sisters, Ruby Cole, Eura Attkisson, and infant sister Katherine; brother, Marvin Davis; step sisters, Eloise, Mary and Estell; step brother, Herman.

Active pallbearers will be Brad Stacy, Brayden Stacy, Ernie Martin, Bryce Butler, Richard Smith, Josiah O’Neill and Logan Worthy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Attkisson, Larry Rummage and Dr. Gibran Naddy.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Naddy for caring for her.
