Rachel Williams Wallace Rachel Williams Wallace, 95, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026.  A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, February 22, from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle.  The funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Jonathon Todd officiating.  A private interment service will be held for the family at Forrest Chapel Cemetery in Hartselle.

Rachel and her twin sister, Reba, were born on November 16, 1930 in Danville, AL.  She and her four siblings were raised in a loving home by her parents and grandmother, “Mama Shorty.”  Following her marriage to Ramon Wallace, she became a member of Forrest Chapel UMC.  Rachel and Ramon’s dedication to their faith through regular church attendance and active involvement was an encouraging example to friends and family.  Rachel will be remembered for aways placing the needs of others ahead of her own and countless acts of service to her church family and neighbors.

After working over twenty years in the library at Hartselle Jr. High School, “Sachel” committed her life to serving as the matriarch of the Wallace family.  Her seven grandchildren enjoyed sleepovers, Easter egg hunts, Thanksgiving dinners, and Christmas carol sing-alongs.  Being a grandmother came naturally to Rachel and her family will never forget the sacrifices she made to serve the ones she loved most.  Her legacy will be one of selflessness, humility and determination.  Rachel’s strong faith, validated by her many good works, leaves no doubt she is now in the arms of her Heavenly Father.

Rachel is survived by her twin sister, Reba Williams James; son, Scotty Wallace, daughter Amy Wallace Coleman (Mark); grandchildren, Kathryn, Patrick (Brittany), and Natalie Wallace, Mary Carol, Will, Weston (Emory) and Malia Coleman; and three great-grandsons, Zayden and John Henry Wallace and Hampton Coleman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Oleta Williams; husband, Ramon Wallace; sisters, Ruth Powell and Betty Sue Moon, a brother, Leonard Williams and an infant great-grandson Jaxon Dean Wallace.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests honoring her example of service to others by helping those in need or making a donation to the Wells Clayton Whitworth Memorial Foundation or your favorite charity.
