R. Terry Darcy III – Obituary

R. Terry Darcy III, age 75, of Sheffield, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012. His family will receive friends Monday, 9-10 a.m., at Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church, Tuscumbia, Ala. A memorial mass will follow with Father Don Forsythe officiating.

Mr. Darcy was a native of Staten Island, N.Y., a graduate of Sheffield High School, Sheffield, Ala., and the University of North Alabama. He was a restaurateur in Murray, Ky. and Dexter, Mo. and retired as Food and Beverage Director with the Alabama State Park System at the Lake Guntersville Lodge. He served on the Tennessee Valley Historical Board and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Beatrice Cairns Darcy.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Nancy Kennedy Darcy, of Sheffield; his son, Richard T. Darcy IV, of Burke, Va.; daughters, Ann Darcy Hooker and husband, Jim, of Melbourne, Fla., Carole Elizabeth Darcy Miller and husband, Bill, of Centerville, Md.; sister, Carole Darcy, of Memphis, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Derek Winn, Paul Pandolf, Erin Darcy, Jack Darcy, Joseph Darcy, Darcy Miller, Dylan Miller and Jacob Miller.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Shoals Catholic Church, 200 E. Commons St, Tuscumbia, AL 35674.
