Nolan “Bud” Davis, 78, of Rogersville, left this world for a better place on September 28, 2012, at Helen Keller Hospital.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at 2 in the chapel with Nolan Clemons and Chris Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Barkley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nolan and Jerrod Clemons, Steven and Andrew Davis, Joey Davis, Evan Eddy and Tyler and Wheeler Dickerson.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Davis; parents, Delmar and Orene Davis; brothers, Aurby Lee Davis, Rabert Davis and Shalon Davis. He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Clemons (Tony Griffin) and Jolie Dickerson (Shane); sons, Gregg Davis, Delmar “Rocky” Davis (Kim) and James Davis (Beverly); 14 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and a host of friends and relatives.

Mr. Davis was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. He worked at various construction jobs until a back injury causing him to retire. When he was able, he loved farming, tinkering on things and was always ready to give advice. In his later years he enjoyed going to the pasture and sitting by the creek watching his cows and picking at his kids and grandkids while sitting on his porch.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
