Public Notice On Street Closing In Florence

FLORENCE-The Florence Street Department has closed Decatur Avenue from the Courtney Avenue intersection to Darby Drive.  The City of Florence Engineer’s office is closing the road as a precaution.  The 7’ x 7’ concrete stormwater culvert that runs underneath Decatur Street needs to be reinforced or replaced.  “This is a process that takes time, but we believe this is a necessary step to take.” Bill Batson

Please be advised that traffic will be detoured until further notice.  There is access into English Village and Bank Independent at the end of Darby Drive.
