DECATUR-Decatur police have released the identity of the man whose body was found at a pavilion at Wilson-Morgan Park early Saturday. Here is what the Decatur Police have to say:
“On 5/16/15, Decatur Police were notified of a deceased male at Wilson Morgan Park.
During the investigation, It was determined that the victim had been shot.
Decatur Police and the Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn have been trying to identify the victim.
At about 3:00pm, The Morgan County Sheriffs Department was contacted by a person trying to find out if a member of their family was in jail. The Sheriff’s Dept then contacted Decatur Police.
Sgt Silvestri and Coroner Chunn met with the family members at Decatur City Hall. The family was able to identify the deceased as:
Joshua Dewayne Davis W/M DOB 10/12/1989
Davis was from Laceys Spring, AL.
Decatur Police is asking anyone that had seen Davis at Wilson Morgan Park to please contact DPD.
